Ecommerce expo 2011 - States of Alderney look to attract more business to the Island
As part of their Economic Development Strategy the States of Alderney are looking to attract more businesses and people to the Island and on the 11th and 12th October 2011 will be exhibiting at the eCommerce Expo at Olympia in London.
The island is working hard to raise its profile as a low-tax jurisdiction with no property buying restrictions and an ideal location to relocate small ecommerce businesses. This coupled with the fact that Alderney is only three miles square and made up of sandy beaches, cobbled streets and stunning landscapes with virtually no crime, it is the perfect environment in which to relocate families and bring up children.
States chief executive Roy Burke said "The economy in Alderney at the moment is a little bit depressed. It's the same the world over, Alderney's no different, and this is an opportunity for Alderney to market itself as a destination for small ecommerce businesses that are looking to move out of the United Kingdom, and with has No Corporation Tax, NO Capital Gains Tax, NO Inheritance Tax and NO VAT and an open housing market for EU citizens with prices on a par with the UK mainland, Alderney has a lot to offer.”
