Leading retailers dominate the seminar programme at Retail Business Technology Expo

Line up includes Boots, Debenhams, Jaeger, John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, McDonald’s, Morrisons, Oxfam, Otto, SPAR and Tommy Hilfiger

The seminar programme for Retail Business Technology Expo 2012, Europe’s fastest growing retail show, has been announced with a dazzling array of retailers set to discuss a range of topics, issues and challenges, revealing the secrets of their success, and providing attendees with an insight into how innovation can help beat the challenging climate.  And it’s all FREE to attend!

With an outstanding education programme consisting of over 130 presentations, debates, discussions, panels and Q&A’s covering a range of subjects from multichannel, eCommerce, internationalisation, loss prevention and fraud, stores, operations, supply chain and logistics, marketing – and so much more.  There’s something for everyone, making this a must visit event for the whole team.

The seminar sessions at Retail Business Technology Expo will be spread over three theatres – the IMRG Theatre and Retail Business Technology Theatres (in addition to these theatres the educational programme also includes the Cards & Payments Solutions Theatre, the Global Retail Forum Meetings and the Pecha Kucha Theatre).

Keynotes at the IMRG Theatre and Retail Business Technology Theatres include; Paul Coby, IT Director, John Lewis Partnership; Mark Fabes, IT Director, McDonald’s and Paul Willows, Director of Strategy & Architecture, Boots, who will be providing valuable insights.

The vast range of speakers will cover the broadest possible range of topics.  Gunnar Sigurdsson, JMS Partners, formerly CEO of the Baugur Group and leading shareholder in Iceland Foods, Hamleys, House of Fraser and Aurum, will be discussing why information is power.

Mark Kelso, Director of Pricing from US retailer Pamida Stores will discuss how to win in the age of the shopper.  Michael Sinn, Vice President Format & Category Management Support, from the world’s second largest online retailer Otto will explain how to achieve Inventory improvement with Predictive Analytics and Joanna Brazier, Multichannel Programme Director, John Lewis Partnership will be providing an insider’s view of multichannel at John Lewis.

And that’s just a taster of the un-missable speaker line up, with ARTS, Beaverbrooks, GfK, Murco, Specsavers, Nokia and Wembley Stadium making up just a small part of the seminar programme.

Nick Field, Event Director, Retail Business Technology Expo and Cards & Payments Solutions, said, “Our free, independent seminar line up represents best practice across a broad range of subjects and disciplines for retail, hospitality and leisure organisations.  Time invested in visiting the Expo will be paid back tenfold by the knowledge that will be taken away from our education programme.”

THE PECHA KUCHA CHALLENGE
In an exciting development for 2012, the Pecha Kucha challenge is coming!  Speakers will present 20 slides, with each slide presented in 20 seconds, so each presenter has just six minutes and 40 seconds to explain their ideas.  Pecha Kucha draws its name from the Japanese term for the sounds of ‘chit chat’.  The presentations will cover a broad range of subjects from: managed services – QR codes – global multichannel payments – cloud computing - Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) on the shop floor – mobile wallets – optimised retailing – RFID - online marketing – mobile channels and much more!
