Next jumps ahead of Tesco in top 50 UK ecommerce sites survey
Tesco falls one place to fourth in the top 50 ecommerce websites in August by traffic
The supermarket giant was overtaken by Next after the clothing specialist jumped two places to third in the Hot Shops List, compiled by Interactive Media in Retail Group (IMRG) and Experian Hitwise.
Amazon's UK store remained the most visited website by British consumers, with Argos staying in second.
Play.com was down two places to sixth, with Marksandspencer.com and Apple.com static at seventh and eight respectively.
John Lewis in ninth and Thomson one place behind completed the top ten for the second survey running.
Commenting on the list, IMRG chief information officer Tina Spooner said: "Amazon UK and Argos have been heading up the list for a while now, but competition seems to be arriving from Next, who have made great gains over the past year, rising from eighth to third in the space of just 15 months."
