Video commerce will 'revolutionise' online retail
Video commerce will transform the way consumers buy goods online for parcel delivery, an expert has suggested.
In an interview with Vccircle.com, Sukhinder Singh Cassidy, chief executive officer at social shopping platform Polyvore, said short-form movies which users can interact with will play a major role in the future.
She believes the potential for revenue growth via online video sales is not limited to any one sector, as it can be tailored to suit any type of product.
Ms Singh Cassidy went on to reveal how she came up with the idea for her startup Joyus, which delivers video sales tools after finding it frustrating clicking through image after image on a retail site.
"I thought, surely there must be a better way to bring some of the fun, entertainment and information that have only been available historically in shopping offline, to women shoppers online," she remarked.
Her comments come after Matt Brian, mobile editor for consumer technology blog thenextweb.com, suggested smartphone technology will soon allow consumers to 'feel' products using their touchscreen.
