International luxury goods retailer Harvey Nichols has re-launched its website, designed in-house and built by e-commerce agency Ampersand Commerce.

The re-launch is part of a broader multichannel strategy by the retailer, driven by its growing online focus. Working with Ampersand to improve and optimise its online offering, Harvey Nichols has introduced the first truly luxury multi-platform approach in the UK that aims to offer customers the best possible online shopping experience.

The website is offering a unique “click & try” service, which combines the convenience of the established ‘click and collect’ model with the personal and in-store service customers expect from Harvey Nichols. Using the free service, customers will receive the full Harvey Nichols’ experience as they are invited to try on their chosen items in-store with a Style Advisor.

Incorporating the Magento Enterprise solution, the new website integrates editorial content, social media streams, videos and blog posts into product pages. A shortlist feature has also been developed that enables customers to save products for purchase at another time. Customers can also manage their ‘MY HN’ accounts, book personal shopping appointments, view live stock updates online and by store and order via ‘click and collect’ – improvements that position Harvey Nichols’ as a true multichannel retailer.

Ampersand has also built an optimised mobile website to offer customers a truly omnichannel service and ensure a consistent experience regardless of device used.
